I find it hard to understand your decision to go with k8s. While I understand this post is 2 years old, throughout it you described how ECS is simpler, easier to setup, works fluently on AWS and everything just works out of the box and is set for you, so, how does “it has a community and we want to be a part of the community” works as an explanation?

I’m really trying to understand how AWS users choose k8s over ECS and can’t simply understand.

Working with k8s I can only find complexity and overheads, along with external tools like kops for bootstrapping and spinnaker for deployments management, which are Concepts that ECS offers right from the start…

Really trying to learn what the world is seeing that I’m not.
